1. Overview

The HotSpot leaderboard (the "Leaderboard") ranks users by points earned from community contributions within the HotSpot mobile application (the "App"), operated by HotSpot Technologies ("we," "us," or "our"). The Leaderboard is a recognition feature: it is a pure contribution ranking, and standing on the Leaderboard does not entitle you to any prize, payment, or reward.

2. Eligibility

Leaderboard participation is open to users of the App with a free (non-bar) account who are at least 18 years of age. Employees, officers, and directors of HotSpot Technologies, along with their immediate family members, may use the App and appear in the rankings for testing and community engagement purposes; however, these individuals are ineligible to receive any reward or prize should rewards be offered in the future.

3. Leaderboard Periods

The App maintains two Leaderboard views:

This Month — ranks users by points earned in the current calendar month. Monthly points reset at 12:00 AM Central Time on the 1st of each month.
All Time — ranks users by lifetime points, which never reset.

Rankings are calculated automatically and displayed in the App. Month boundaries are anchored to Central Time (America/Chicago) regardless of your location.

4. Earning Points

Points are awarded for valid community contributions as follows:

100 points – Vibe (sentiment) submission for a bar
50 points – Cover charge report
50 points – Wait time report
50 points – Bar attendance check-in
250 points – Live update with photo or video

Purchases never earn points. Pass (voucher) purchases and event ticket purchases made through the App do not award Leaderboard points and do not affect your ranking in any way. All activities that earn points are free.

Submissions are subject to validity checks and rate limits (for example, a per-bar cooldown between submissions of the same type). Duplicate, automated, or fraudulent submissions earn no points. Point values may be adjusted at our discretion, and the values shown in the App govern if they differ from this page.

5. Tiers

Your tier is determined solely by your lifetime points:

Bronze – 0+ lifetime points (starting tier)
Silver – 500+ lifetime points
Gold – 2,500+ lifetime points
Diamond – 10,000+ lifetime points
Amethyst – 25,000+ lifetime points

Tiers are recognition only and carry no monetary value. Tier thresholds may change with notice in the App.

6. Fair Play and Disqualification

We may remove points, reset rankings, or suspend Leaderboard access for any user who:

Submits false, misleading, or fraudulent information
Attempts to manipulate the Leaderboard through automated means, multiple accounts, location spoofing, or other prohibited methods
Posts content that violates our content standards (all submissions are subject to moderation)
Violates the HotSpot Terms of Service
Engages in any conduct we deem harmful to the integrity of the Leaderboard

7. Prizes and Contests

HotSpot is not currently offering leaderboard prizes or paid contest rewards. The Leaderboard is for recognition and in-app tiers only.

If we introduce a prize contest or promotion in the future, its official rules — including entry requirements, contest period, prizes, and winner selection — will be published on this page before the contest begins. Until such rules are published, no contest is running and no prizes are available.

8. Changes to These Rules

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Leaderboard, point values, or tiers at any time. Material changes will be reflected on this page and in the App.

9. Governing Law

These rules are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama, without regard to conflict of law principles, and are subject to the dispute resolution provisions of the HotSpot Terms of Service.

10. Privacy

Information collected in connection with the Leaderboard is subject to the HotSpot Privacy Policy. You can control whether your name appears on the Leaderboard in the App's privacy settings.
